200 HOURS TEACHER TRAINING
INTRODUCTION
Becoming a yoga teacher or a yoga professional can be very enriching and fulfilling in deepening one’s personal life experience and yoga practice. It helps to enhance the understanding and the workings of that personal journey where one may be able to bring into their own area of expertise and share the benefits from this learning.
The depth and complexity of the yoga history, revolution and practices will bring continuous learning opportunity to all of us, in yoga and in our daily lives, whether you are a practitioner, a teacher or in transition between the two. And it is within this appreciation that this yoga teacher training is materialised.
ABOUT THE COURSE
This course focuses on the skill of teaching and how one can effectively and confidently teach variations of postures (asana), breathing, philosophy whilst integrating anatomy & physiology, contemplative practices such as meditation, mindfulness and relaxation; and in a way that is compassionate and gentle, in holding space for the students as well as for the teachers. Exploration of other teaching elements will be incorporated as the course progresses.
SYLLABUS
The following syllabus will be covered:
- Yoga history and philosophies – introduction, understanding and integration in teaching & practice;
- The principles of yoga postures (asana) and practice – how to teach creatively and authentically you;
- Techniques & teaching skills – teaching points, adapting to class, managing subtle energies in teaching;
- Sequencing of class – how to be creative in developing a class incorporating overall body work or target specific i.e., core-focus or hip-focus;
- Breathwork (pranayama) and meditation – exploring pranayama and meditation practice and teachings;
- Subtle energies – introduction and incorporating subtle energies into teaching;
- Anatomy & physiology – a functional approach.
CERTIFICATION
The course meets the certification standards set by Yoga Alliance Professional UK and trainee teachers are required to register with Yoga Alliance Professional UK (free) with option to include a teaching insurance costing £25.

- A regular and consistent practice of at least 2 years
- Journaling of your practice
- Most importantly, your passion in learning and sharing the practice and benefits of yoga
If you are a passionate regular practitioner with under 2 years of practice, please get in touch to discuss suitability.
- All training materials, equipment and support throughout the course;
- One year access to training portal (where applicable);
- Training and assessment by a qualified Yoga Alliance Professionals SYT;
- Complementary Trainee membership with Yoga Alliance Professionals;
- Continued support/mentoring post-training.
EXCLUSION:
- The cost does not include any food, transportation or accommodation requirements;
- The cost does not cover books and/or other recommended reading materials;
- The cost does not cover any retreat accommodation, food and/or transportation (where applicable);
- All yoga equipment is provided but you are encouraged to bring your own. Please get in touch if additional support is needed where applicable.
A non-refundable £300 deposit to be paid upon enrolment/registration to ensure the place on the course and should be made at the time of acceptance to the course through the link provided. Full course fee to be paid 2 months before the course starts.
Payment plans available in 3, 6 or 9 payments/months minus deposit.
3 monthly payments:
£550 on the 1st of each month from March 2023 – May 2023
£275 on the 1st of each month from March 2023 – August
2023
9 monthly payments:
£185 on the 1st of each month from March 2023 – October
2024
£170 on the 1st of November 2023 – Last payment.
Evaluation and Assessment Criteria and Process
At the start of the course, you will be provided with a manual handbook and all learning materials that you will use as a guide throughout the course. You will be guided throughout the course as it progresses.
You will be assessed on:
- Written course work
- Class planning
- Teaching as a leading instructor (to complete teaching log)
- Observation (to complete observation log)
- Journaling
- Anatomy & physiology
Completion of Training
Upon successful completion of the training, you will be equipped to:
- Teach a dynamic flow or vinyasa style yoga class (including knowledge of ashtanga vinyasa primary series);
- Teach a gentle and restorative-based class;
- Have better understanding on how to sequence and direct your own classes;
- Continue and develop your own breath work, poses and meditation-based sitting practices;
- Have better understanding of yoga and what it means in a greater context beyond a physical practice and its relevance in other traditions;
- Develop the process and experience of self-enquiry & self-observation that leads to self discovery;
- Share basic knowledge of yoga therapeutics;
- Share basic knowledge of mindfulness and meditation;
- Integrate the basics of mindfulness meditation & yoga therapeutics in your teaching;
- Have better understanding on responding to trauma-affected population;
- Have better understanding on marketing your services through development of website and social media.
